Youth Entrepreneurship

Welcome to the Idea Factory, a youth entrepreneurship experience that provides high school students with not only a job, but hands-on, real-world business and entrepreneurship experience.  The program is a collaboration between Sustainable Startups, the Sorenson Unity Center and Youth City.  It is a first of its kind youth program, completely free for those accepted.

This Summer, we are working with high schoolers to develop two businesses, a pop-up farm stand and a micro-retail store front. (Meet our current participants here!) Participants are in charge of the marketing, design, operations, financials and all critical business decisions.

This summer is an intensive session, running from mid-June to mid-August, with two weekly meetings. Participants receive a $200 stipend for participating.

If you're in high school and interested in participating, applications for the Summer cohort are now open. Applications close June 1st, so apply today!

If you have questions or would like more information, please contact our Program Coordinator, Katia Racine (katia@sustainablestartups.org)
